Information from the U.S. Treasury.
The law prohibits portraits of living persons from appearing on US Government Securities. Therefore, the portraits on our currency notes are of deceased persons whose places in history the American people know well.
Unfortunately, however, our records do not suggest why certain Presidents and statesmen were chosen for specific denominations.
What president is on a quarter?
All quarters minted in the US since 1932 have featured George Washington on the front, and he is the only US President to appear on the front of quarters.
HOWEVER, there have been "additional" Presidents on the back of quarters, thanks to the State (and now National Park) quarters they've been making since 1999:
The New Jersey State Quarter has George Washington "on the back" as well.
The Illinois State Quarter has Abraham Lincoln on the back.
The South Dakota State Quarter has Mount Rushmore on the back, so George Washington and Abraham Lincoln appear again, along with Thomas Jefferson and Theodore Roosevelt.
I found a copper colored quarter, How much would this quarter be worth?
My quarter is a 1973 quarter and has a copper finish. It looks exactly like a regular quarter but has a different color. That is the ony difference. I have a feeling it might be worth something but I am not really sure. Thanks for anything y can tell me.
Your quarter is worth exactly that.... a quarter.

whats the value of a quarter dollar?
ok im wondering if i go to the store and use a quarter dollar when i pay the amount, is that allowed? or are quarter dollars of no value? are they 25 cents such as the regular quarter? srry if my question seems stupid, im just wondering can i still use a quarter dollar and is it the same thing as 25 cents?
The US coin worth 25 cents is sometimes called a "quarter" and sometimes called a "quarter dollar" but it is always worth 25 cents -- which is one quarter (one fourth) of a dollar.
I don't know what you mean by "are they the same as a regular quarter". A quarter dollar *IS* a regular quarter. There is no other kind.
Are you by any chance asking about the older style of quarter, the ones that existed before they started minting the state quarters in 1997? If that's what you mean -- those are still valid currency and are worth 25 cents, just like the state quarters are, and just like the America the Beautiful quarters now are.
