I have to write a 1000 word essay on Philippians.. any ideas what to write about? What is the main them/messgae?

Philippians is Paul's joy letter. The church in that Macedonian city had been a great encouragement to Paul. The Philippian believers had enjoyed a very special relationship with him, so he wrote them a personal expression of his love and affection. They had brought him great joy (4 v 1). Philippians is also a joyful book because it emphasizes the real joy of the Christian life. The concept of rejoicing or joy appears sixteen times in four chapters, and the pages radiate this positive message, culminating in the exhortation to "always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again-rejoice!" (4 v 4).

In a life dedicated to serving Christ, Paul had faced two excruciating poverty, abundant wealth, and everything in between. He even wrote the joyful letter from prison. Whatever the circumstances, Paul had learned to be content (4 v 11 & 12), finding real joy as he focused all of his attention and energy on knowing Christ (3 v 8) and obeying Him (3 v 12 & 13).

Paul's desire to know Christ above all else is wonderfully expressed in the following words: "Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For His sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ and become one with Him...I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised Him from the dead. I want to suffer with Him, sharing in His death" (3 v 8-10).

Question about Paul (Saul) in the Bible!!!?

I like to study the books that Paul wrote because, well, they are magnificant. I am wondering, however, where in the Bible does inform us of Paul's death? Is there more than 1 reference?

Dear Friend,

I hope the following information will be helpful:

The Apostle Paul was imprisoned in Rome in A.D. 61, and there wrote his prison Epistles: Ephesians, Philippians, and Colossians. His imprisonment ended approximately three years later during the year that Rome was burned, which was in May A.D. 64 (see Acts 28:30). During is brief freedom, Paul may have visited western and eastern Europe and Asia Minor--he also wrote hi first Epistle to Timothy and his Epistle to Titus.

At first, Nero was blamed for setting fire to Rome, so to direct the blame away from himself he blamed the Christians. As a result, a fierce persecution broke out against them. During it, Paul was arrested and put back into prison in Rome. While in prison this second time he wrote his second letter to Timothy. It was his last.

Not long after, he was judged guilty of crimes against the Emperor and condemned to death. He was taken to the execution block and beheaded. It was A.D. 66, just four years before Jerusalem fell.

Sincerely in Christ Jesus,
