What is the best GPS for what I need?

I need the best most up dated maps and also the most points of interests.

I would suggestion a Garmin GPS, these are good GPS that have a free real-time traffic updates from Navteq (for the life of the device), has ability to add custom points of interest (POI’s).

What is the difference between TFT and LCD screens?

Hi i intend to buy a gaming machine but i have to choose between 2 laptops that has the similar hardware (similar graphics card, CPU, RAM etc) but the first one is made by Toshiba and has a TFT screen while the second has an LCD screen and made by Sony both laptops have the same screen resolution. So i need to know the advantages of TFT versus LCD and the advantages of LCD versus TFT. Which screen has clearer images? Which screen lasts longer? Thanks in Advance

TFT and LCD are one and the same technology. TFT is a development on the original LCD standard but based on the same idea.

Most LCD screens are actually using the TFT technology. This may just be a matter of terminology but TFT is the improved LCD technology.

Why should I wait for OLED?

Hi, I’ve been getting a lot of excitement from you guys on OLED TV, I planned to buy one of those 3D/smart TVs but all of you said to wait a little more for OLED. Why? What is such a big difference?

Yes there is a big difference. The OLED pixels emits their own light. In a LCD, the light is generated by a white backlight, then passed through the LCD layer, which acts like a filter. A LED tv is the same thing as an LCD, but the backlight consist of white LEDs instead of CCFL tubes.

Why does this make it better? It is all in the depth of the blacks. When an OLED pixel is off, it is really off and emits no light. When an LCD pixel is off, the backlight is still on and there is a small amout of leakage, creating a gray color. OLED TVs have the advantages of both the plasma and LCD/LED TVs.

Should you wait? OLEDs will not be available to the mainstreams TV price range in the next 1-2 years. If you are willing to wait 2-3 years, then yes, the wait is worth it.

Which types of backlights OLED TV uses?

My current TV has a backlight with local dimming. What kind of backlight does the OLED TV have?

OLED TV doesn’t need any backlighting because it’s different in various aspects than conventional TVs. I have read about LG OLED TV which is using four color pixel emitting technology for high definition pictures.
