What startup items can i disable?

%20 of my ram is taken up when i boot up and have nothing running so I went to msconfig and checked startup. These are the items that startup every time. IDT PC Audio Synaptics Pointing Device Driver Microsoft Windows Operating System Catalyst Control Center Adobe Acrobat Adobe Reader and Acrobat Manager Easybits Recovery Java Platform SE Auto Updater 2 0 cyberlink brs HP Quick Launch HP On Screen Display PowerDVD RC Service

Unless you're a big user of PDFs, I'd recommend uninstalling your Adobe software and using Google Chrome for PDFs.

For the rest of them, it really depends on whether you're using the features or not.

If you don't use the remote control feature of PowerDVD, then you can remove the bottom one.

Is there any Recovery except the CWM on the Alcatel OT-995?

I have an Alcatel OT-995 and i want to install a custom rom on it. I haven't worked out with the ClockworkMod recovery , so is there any other recovery i can use and how can i install it ?

You could try twrp recovery (team win recovery project) is what I think it stands for. It's a full touch recovery. I think you can download it through rom manager app now but don't quote me on that. Have you tried researching on xda developers Web site? I'm sure some one can give you a download link there.

Do i have to cwm recovery to install a custom rom?

I want to install a custom rom... Should i cwm recover b4 and why? What happens if i put a custom rom b4 i i cwm recovery

1) This is a mobile phone question, specifically Android phone question

2) You need to root first, then you install a recovery, either Clockwork Mod (CWM) or TWRP (Team Win Recovery Program) whichever's compatible with your phone, to bypass the existing recovery

3) Once you got that installed, the recovery lets you make backups of your existing ROM, THEN you can think about installing a custom ROM.

HP recovery partition after update to windows 7 pro?

I have a H8-1080t desktop with windows 7 premium. If i update to windows 7 pro will the hp recovery partition reflect this. I do not want to use the recovery partition down the road and have premium installed after the recovery.

Well if you upgrade to win pro it will not affect your recovery partition at all. So if you have a system failure or anything in that nature in you use that recovery partition it would recover it back to your factory defaults meaning back to the OS that was installed on your computer.
YOUR BEST BET IS WHEN YOU UPGRADE YOUR COMPUTER TO PROFESSIONAL BACK-UP YOUR COMPUTER WITH A SYSTEM IMAGE SO IF YOU DO HAVE A FAILURE YOU CAN RECOVERY IT WITH THE IMAGE Instead of the partition.
